EVERY FRIDAY UNTIL 28TH OCTOBER Walking Meditation
Highbury Park 10:30am – 12pm
Introduction to walking meditation as a way to relax, meet people, enjoy the park and increase self- awareness. Involves silent walking, helpful literature and some discussion time. Consistant practice, leads to results. Meet at the entrance off the High Street, Kings Heath, B14 7SN. An Active Parks session.
WEDNESDAY 5TH, 12TH & 19TH OCTOBER Woodland Wednesdays
Highbury Park 10:45am – 1pm
A series of woodland management learning days with the aim of managing the woodland for the benefit of wildlife. Meet at the car park Shutlock Lane, Moseley, B13 8NZ. An Active Parks session.
SATURDAY 8TH OCTOBER Heritage Week, Woodland Walk
Holders Woods 11am – 1pm
An exploration of woodlands old and new. Starting at Holders Woods, then on to the Queen Mother’s Plantation and the Centenary Woodland at Cannon Hill Park – 3 distinctive wooded areas within half a mile. Meet at Holders Woods car park, Holders Lane, Moseley, B13 8NL.
WEDNESDAY 26TH OCTOBER Leafy Land Art
Cannon Hill Park 10:30am – 1pm As the leaves turn and fall, the seasons change to bring us a riot of colour, shapes and textures to explore and use to make leafy land art. Will involve walking on muddy ground and collecting natural materials. Bring your devices to snap some shots or film the action of creating a temporary piece of art in the park. Meeting at Cannon Hill Park Tea Rooms, Russell Rd. Moseley, B13 8RD.
